Recently I was invited to tour the Boston Magazine Design Home located at the newly constructed Concordia in Swampscott MA.  If you live anywhere near Swampscott this home is a must see and even if you don’t, it is worth the trip. Not only is the home BEAUTIFUL but 100% of the proceeds of the tour go to support Children’s Hospital.

The home is right on the water and although it was foggy the day of our tour the future homeowners will have incredible views. The design and decorating of the home was coordinated by Jerry Rippetoe and Tony Sienicki. They did a fantastic job of creating a beautiful color palette of blues, creams and complementary neutrals that flowed seamlessly from room to room. There is so much to take in and share but the highlights for me was the lighting, the color palette, the window treatments, the artwork, the ceilings, and the carpets (I guess that’s pretty much everything).

Foyer

The front entrance set the tone with beautiful teal and gold wallpaper that was carried up onto the ceiling, spectacular sparkling lights from Lucia Lighting, a beautiful carpet from Landry and Arcari and artwork from Kensington-Stobart Gallery.

Just around the corner from the entrance was the kitchen, designed and build by Family Kitchens. Here the designers chose a lighter version of the blue/green and white color palette.

The kitchen had every conceivable amenity and the white cabinets paired with the green Costa Esmeralda granite and coordinating tile back splash felt just right for an ocean side home.

The adjoining great room flowed seamlessly with the kitchen. Don’t you just love the blue ceiling? Another bonus is that a full wall of windows looks directly out to the ocean.

Great Room

The great room is filled with one of kind accessories and museum quality artwork such as the painting over the fireplace.

For me the highlight of the great room is a 100+ year old carpet from Landry and Arcari. Talk about artwork for the floor! It was one of the most beautiful carpets I have ever seen. Interwoven throughout the entire piece are animals and fanciful creatures. By looking at the colors it was most likely the inspiration for the designers chosen color palette.

Look closely and see how many animals you can spot (I see at least four in this tiny detail).

The house has three bedrooms and my favorite is the master.

SO relaxing and soothing with the beautiful blue and silver wallpaper and that gorgeous silver bed.

The house has four bathrooms and each one is different and beautiful but they all have luxurious finishes, lighting and window treatments.

Even the closets are decked out and are a space to linger in.

The house is open for tours Sept.12th through Oct.7th. For those of you who are local and would like to see the whole house I have two free tickets I would love to pass on. Just let me know if you would like to attend by commenting below. If more than one person wants them I will randomly pick a name on Wed.
