This was a new build condo with not only a very small footprint, but a very awkward floor plan. The dining area is a niche in the hallway across from the kitchen and the living area is split in half with a traffic pathway that had to be kept open leading to the back door and yard.
Getting the floor plan correct was the biggest challenge with this project. The entire living space was only 361 sq ft yet required seating for up to six. The solution was to place three comfortable chairs around a round glass coffee table. A round rug acted to visually expand the very room. I chose two swivel chairs that could swing around to face a bench that accommodate two additional two guests. Comfortable dining chairs can be pulled into use when needed. Three slim profile bar stools tucked under the kitchen counter, work for informal meals.
Personality was added with carefully placed pops of color and pattern.
